Commemorative Plaques
Commemorative plaques are traditionally handmade cast in aluminium with raised/embossed lettering & outside border. The clean crisp embossed letters are formed when the molten aluminium flows into the mould at 700 degrees C (Not glued on) producing a solid one-piece casting to last a lifetime.
About our Commemorative Plaques
Having pre-drilled countersunk fixing holes, we include wall plugs, stainless steel screws & small vial of matching paint for screw heads. We also make free-standing commemorative plaques, these are chosen if there is no wall to fix a standard plaque, say in a garden area. The plaque is mounted on a steel post or stake at 45-degree angle, arrives assembled ready to go into the ground.
The high-quality finish is achieved by chasing & fettling the surface before finally applying several coats of paint. You have a choice of seven standard background colours, six optional extra ones, and three text/border colours. Take a look at our house signs for more choice. Commemorative Plaques Text Layout
The size of plaque is determined by how much wording you’re wanting on it, and each plaque has approx maximum number of characters next to it. (see below) When deciding on the shape to go for, consider what text/wording has to go on a single line. For example the 16.5″ x 9.25″ green rectangular plaque below has the text “DRAYTON GREEN PRIMARY SCHOOL” this needed to be on a single line and so couldn’t fit the 16.5″ oval plaque unless the school name was towards the centre of the sign. So if you have a long single line either at the top or bottom then it’s best to go for a rectangular plaque. The prices listed below are for all capital text (style similar to Arial) you can have upper & lowercase text (style similar to Times Roman) for an extra £40.00

When placing your order online it’s important to type the text in all capitals, or upper & lowercase, which ever you prefer – the plaque will be manufactured as such.
