Traditional house name signs
Sometimes referred to as vintage house signs, we make them in various shapes and sizes. Oval, rectangular, arched top and round, all with raised/embossed lettering and outside border, cast in one solid piece.
Sculptured signs
A stylized range of animals sculptured in raised relief, with your house name curved around the circular centre feature. With a further sculptured rectangular range based on the four seasons of the year.
Double-sided signs
Cast as one solid piece with your name on both sides, made in a swinging or fixed position, and supplied with posts and finials.
House number signs
These are made in oval, round, rectangular, and arched topped with several sizes to choose from, with the option of adding your house name or road name.
Decorative house name signs
Very detailed quality signs sculptured in floral raised relief designs, are the most complicated signs to make and take many hours to complete.

What are the signs made of:
Our signs are cast in aluminium, and designed and handmade by ourselves using traditional sand casting techniques that go back hundreds of years. After casting, we fettle the sign by hand, a process of grinding, sanding and working the surface in preparation for the next part – grit blasting.
The painting process:
Before painting the house plaque, the surface is grit blasted, this gives the paint extra adhesion.
1: Firstly an acid etch primer is applied to the surface.
2: Secondly we apply a metal primer
3: The sign is coated with your chosen gloss background colour.
4: Apply the raised embossed text lettering enamel
5: Finally, the sign is given a coat of marine lacquer for extra protection.
Background colour choices:
You have a choice of six standard background colours included in the price. With a further five optional lighter shade background colours. (see our range of sign colours)
Text/border colours:
The raised/embossed sign lettering/text is finished in a choice of four standard colours, these are gold, silver, magnolia and black. All outside borders are done the same colour as standard.
