Village Signs

The slider opposite shows some village signs & crests Ridgequest have made in the past.
They are highly sculptured in raised relief and finally cast in aluminium.

We no longer make this style due to the many weeks of sculptured artwork and foundry pattern-work tooling (get-up costs) this needs to be done before we can start to make any signage. A Council will have say two, three or four signs, effectively a very small limited edition, this makes the sign prohibitively expensive for most Parish Councils. We have many different types of signs including Time Capsule, House signs, and commemorative plaques.

However, Ridgequest still manufactures with an arched top mounted on two steel posts with capping finials The arched top provides a small area for sculptured artwork with the village name below. These are also cast in aluminium like our other signs and finished by hand, the surface is firstly fettled, a process of grinding, sanding & filing the surface prior to painting. To achieve a good quality sound finish, the casting is grit blasted, etch primed, metal primed, gloss coated to customers chosen colours, and then a final coat of marine lacquer. Arched top Signage

This is the style we now manufacture, available in two sizes.

Large:

This arched top measures approx 1140mm x 380mm (45″ x 15″) cast in aluminium with raised text, outside border and sculptured feature in arched top area. The additional sign below is also cast in aluminium with raised text, both finished in your choice of colours.

The steel fabricated post/frame work is made from 76mm (3″) diameter steel tubes with 60mm x 40mm ( 2.4″ x 1.5″) steel box section cross members, signs are fixed to posts via stainless steel rivets. Two cast aluminium finials are supplied with the sign to cap off the top of the posts. The sign and fabricated steel post/frame work come assembled ready to go into the ground.

Small:

The steel fabricated post/frame work is made from 60mm x 40mm steel box section ( 2.4″ x 1.5″) with heavy steel plate cross members, signs are fixed to posts via stainless steel rivets. The sign and fabricated steel post/frame work come assembled ready to go into the ground.
