We no longer make this style due to the many weeks of sculptured artwork and foundry pattern-work tooling (get-up costs) this needs to be done before we can start to make any signage. A Council will have say two, three or four signs, effectively a very small limited edition, this makes the sign prohibitively expensive for most Parish Councils. We have many different types of signs including Time Capsule, House signs, and commemorative plaques.
However, Ridgequest still manufacture with an arched top mounted on two steel posts with capping finials The arched top provides a small area for sculptured artwork with the village name below. These are also cast in aluminium like our other signs and finished by hand, the surface is firstly fettled, a process of grinding, sanding & filing the surface prior to painting. To acheive a good quality sound finish, the casting is grit blasted, etch primed, metal primed, gloss coated to customers chosen colours and then a final coat of marine lacquer. (see examples below)
